Description

In order to balance energy supply/demand and assure energy security for Vietnam’s Southern region, to realize modern energy infrastructure to response to current and future industrial growth, as well as to prepare for future imports of gas from the ASEAN pipelines, a new East-West Gas Connection Pipeline was planned to connect existing gas pipeline systems in the South-Eastern region with gas pipeline systems in the South-Western region of Vietnam.

Two (2) 30 inches pipeline options have been considered with the following configurations:

Option 1

The East-West Gas Connection Pipeline with 22 inches diameter and bi-directional flow shall be built with 3.0 BSCMY, starting from O Mon GDC in the West and going to Hiep Phuoc GDS in the East of Viet Nam.

Option 2

In this option 2, the East-West Gas Connection Pipeline shall be realized in two phases:

Phase 1

The East-West Gas Connection Pipeline with 30 inches diameter and bi-directional flow shall be built with 3 BSCMY capacity, starting from O Mon GDC in the West and going to Hiep Phuoc GDS in the East of Viet Nam.

Phase 2

Transport gas from East to West, the capacity of pipeline system is 7.6 BSCMY at Phu My GDC and transport gas from West to East is 3.0 BSCMY at O Mon GCS after construction of the Nam Con Son 2 pipeline has been completed.

PetroVietnam (PVN) appointed PetroVietnam South East Gas Management Board (PVSEG) as their representative and PetroVietnam Engineering (PVE) was awarded to provide the Basic Design and Investment Report.

DORSCH CONSULT (DC Asia) as a sub-contractor of PetroVietnam Engineering, was commissioned with the following services:
