Description

Shanghai Pudong Airport had to be connected with the metropolitan station “Long Yang Road” by means of a transrapid train section.
This resulted in a survey on behalf of the government of the municipality of Shanghai (SHA) and Transrapid International (TRI) in order to determine the technical, scheduled and economic feasibility of the project. Within the framework of the mutual work programme the Chinese have taken the responsibility for planning, interpreting and calculating the structural infrastructure. The quantity formulation found out by SHA and the estimate of investment costs were to be checked in regard to their plausibility. The plausibility checking had to be carried out due to the overall requirements of the structural infrastructure.
